Home!

We made it home safe and sound from Iowa and of course, Kabe still had one more gift to open from us. Santa Claus had made his visit to Iowa, but this gift was just to big to haul back and forth and would be too tempting to open while we were there and of course, with 1300+ pieces we didn't need to leave any behind.
Being all about Star Wars these days, this was a huge hit! Since I'm posting retro, I'll be posting the finished product pics soon. (he's almost insistent!...sorry - bear with me).

Also found at home, a HUGE broken tree limb in the back yard on the Bradford Pear. This just barely missed the house and unfortunately, will probably need to come down now or be trimmed immensely. These trees aren't known for their sturdyness and once they begin to break....they're done for. Goodbye master bedroom shade.

A Man & A Saw

While everyone was assembled at Grandma's the guys decided it would be a good time to do some yard cleanup. The winter has been pretty harsh and due to some severe freezing, the trees and yard were in pretty bad shape. Luckily, Gale, Brian & Chad are good with a chain saw!

Lots of the other guys helped stacked the wood, some helped load the truck with stuff to take to the burn pile down the road, others helped load another truck for the wood burning pile.

Vickie, Kaitlyn, Grandma (Dawn and Karen behind) along with many others just stayed out of the way of falling tree limbs and all the dust.

Once the effort was complete, Grandma should have no fear of falling limbs and she also has plenty of fire wood for next winter. Great team effort!
