Happy Birthday...

to Dr. Seuss! Kabe's class celebrated the remembrance today by wearing funny hats and Kabe wanted to take in a treat. I found a cake online & baked five round cakes & Adam went to work on getting it all together & delivered....and the 2nd graders enjoyed it all....not a crumb came home. =)

More Birthday Presents!

One day last week Kabe received two birthday presents one from each side of the family.

The first was a Star Wars Transformer. There isn't much that's better than combining the two toys he is most infatuated with right now.

The next gift is something I hadn't heard of, but is right up Kabe's alley. They're called Neo Shifters and they're sorta like Lego's, but not. Anyway, he LOVES them.

Adam & I also got a package from the same family member, which I let Adam open. Here he is opening it and showing the contents....Sweet Chex Mix! If I haven't made any for you....you should invite us to a winter party and request it...YUM! =)

Here is Kabe, hard at work with the Neo Shifter...There are instructions which he used, but now he's way past the instructions, on to his own inventions.

Thank you Aunt Kimmy and Grandpa Ted and Grandma Becky for the way cool gifts!

The Birthday Bowling Bash!

The Birthday Bowling Bash (aka ... birthday party at the bowling alley) was a lot of fun! Bowling, pizza, pop, cake (Transformers, of course!), balloons, pop, pizza, bowling, pop, pizza, bowling, presents, bowling, pop and a bunch of excited, giggly, fun kids!

Ms. Candis even stopped by to wish Kabe a Happy Birthday.

Thanks Alex, Ben, Joey, Keenan, and Michaela for coming to the party and making it so much fun!

The Low-Key Birthday

September 5th, Kabe's birthday morning, began at 3:30am. He's normally an early riser, but this come-on! Normally when he wakes in the night I take him back to bed & we're all good, but he has this cold / sinus / allergy thing going on, combined with the over-the-top excitement about his birthday....sleep just wouldn't come.

A little before 6am he & I got up to make muffins. He sooooo wanted to open presents, but instead, when daddy got up we opted to have him open the cards he'd received in the mail.

He took cupcakes to school to share with his class, decorated with transformers of course.

Kabe & I met daddy in town to for dinner, he chose Olive Garden, where he opened one of his gifts.

Of course, what else, but a Transformer! None other, than Optimus Prime.

Aunt Robbin, Uncle Chad, Chet & Cody sent balloons....

And also got him a wii Indiana Jones Game ... so cool!

Next it was on to the last gift from us.

Last Saturday

Our time has been jam-packed lately and summer is flying right by. Before we know it, fall (and school!) will be here. I'm sure ready for the cooler fall weather -- my favorite -- but I so enjoy summer and no homework, more lax bedtimes, etc.

Last weekend was a fun weekend, especially for Kabe. After the fun of wii-games with Miss Bev & Mr Harv on Friday night, Kabe had a birthday party for his friend Ben, from his old school. It was at a mini-golf course and batting cages....so fun for 7-10 year olds!
Adam had to work that morning and Kabe & I ran some errands before the party, thus we arrived a little early with time to kill....(no....this is not a staged photo!).

Here is Ben, Kabe & Daniel. Both Ben & Daniel are Kabe's closest buddies from his previous school.

Happy Birthday Adam!

Happy Birthday to Adam! He turns the big 36 today! He started his day with a card and gift from Kabe.

Kabe signed the card himself and wrote on the outside as well. Look closely (click on the picture above) to see what he wrote.

Kabe also made the decision as to what gifts he wanted to give Adam. It's something they like to watch together.

To end the day, we ate dinner at Olive Garden and then headed home to watch Survivor, of course!
